Summer Meet is held in Västerås every summer, in early July, and is one of Europe''s largest car meets and one of Sweden''s most visited summer events. Tens of thousands of visitors from across the Nordics come for classic American cars, cruising through the city, exhibitions and a swap meet — plus live music, food and activities for the whole family.

It also means Västerås fills up. Accommodation in the city sells out early for that weekend, often months ahead. Book late and there is rarely anything central left.

Hotell Arkad is at Östermalmsgatan 25 in the middle of central Västerås. The cruising runs through town, and you walk back to your room rather than hunting for parking or a taxi in the middle of the night.
