A family business, not a chain
Hotell Arkad is a family-owned boutique hotel in central Västerås. With 43 tastefully and individually decorated rooms and suites in a range of sizes, there is a room to suit most tastes.
Our aim is that you feel at home while enjoying a level of comfort only a hotel can provide. That is the difference a family-run house makes: reception knows who you are, and we can say yes to things no manual covers.
The location
In the middle of the city, and still quiet
Hotell Arkad sits in central Västerås, in a spot that shelters you from the noise of the city. The central station, Västerås Kongress, Växthuset and Mälardalen University are all an easy walk away.
There is plenty to explore. The cathedral, Lake Mälaren, Kyrkbacken and Västerås Castle are all within walking distance. Kokpunkten, Scandinavia's largest action bath, is here in Västerås and is worth the trip for adults and children alike.
There are plenty of restaurants nearby — ask at reception for recommendations. Västerås is a city rich in history and culture, from cobbled streets and historic buildings to modern shopping and a lively night scene.

We are in the heart of the city. Whether you arrive by train, car or plane, getting here is straightforward.
A five-minute walk from the central station
From Västerås Centralstation it is about a five-minute walk, roughly 500 metres. That makes us one of the easiest hotels in the city to reach by train. Timetables and tickets for local travel are available from VL.
Parking in the courtyard
We offer monitored parking in our own courtyard subject to space, at 95 SEK per night — an unusual convenience in central Västerås. Drive in through the gate at Östermalmsgatan 25.
From Arlanda and Västerås Airport
Västerås Airport is only 5 km from the hotel. From Arlanda, the train or airport coach takes about an hour and fifteen minutes.
